I spend a lot of time in Rangiora. I go there at least twice a week for G's dance and a lot of the time another once or twice for work as well. It is a place I never spent too much time in except for specific tasks and when we returned from Auckland to live I found it pretty depressing and felt like it was not somewhere I would want to spend any time at all. But in the last few months things are really turning round and it is somewhere we find ourselves heading quite a bit. One of the appeals is that it is 30 minutes from Oxford as opposed to 60 minutes to Christchurch. It also has most things that we need apart from a mall - but it is only now and then that I feel like heading to the mall anyway.
My top three favourites in Rangiora are:-
Mediterranean Food Company. This place is so lovely. Fantastic staff, decor and amazing grocery items. We went there last week and bought cheese, meats, gelato, and we also had lunch there. We had the tutto formaggio pizza which was heaven! Mozarella, pecorino, provolone and blue cheese - we have not had such good pizza since we were in Italy. I have been dreaming of it ever since.
Niche Gifts - I could have any item from this shop in my home and be very happy about it! We have recently purchased some plant stands and a morroccan pouf and it is all gorgeous!
F.O.D. Cafe - Great food, great coffee, lovely decor - everything we could want.
It is great to see Rangiora coming along the way it is, we certainly enjoy heading down there regularly and I think it only will get better.
